in dieptedekens gewikkeld ben ik nu voer voor haaien;
wrapped in deep blankets I am now bait for sharks;
see how those shades circle around me. are they as hungry for me
as I am for myself? where does the little light still come from?
that damn wind blows the cracked door out of its hinges,
the soot drops unremittingly down the chimney, the cat runs inside
against the deluge, shakes with every rumble of the thunder.
which voice still matches this story? every flash brands fear
in my face. the shadows now follow everywhere I look.
after smashing the vase, the smithers crawl to the corners
of the living room and they wait in fear. which shadow moves
the fastest, which shadow discovers first the tender bit.
