op de verhoogde bank aan de rand
van de heide die ik zo vaak
voor ogen houd als ik ze sluit,
waar ik zo vaak over droom,
las ik een boek over de wind
en over het dansen van schaduw.
eerst zat ik en daarna lag ik
in de zon, achteraf, toen ik
huilde, zat ik weer, klaar
om tussen dennenbomen terug
te stappen. "wat is het stil
hier," dacht ik, "zo ontzettend
stil." hoe stil ook beroerde
een warme bries al dat purper.
on the heightened bench close to
the heather, which I see so much
when I close my eyes, about which
I have dreamt already so many times,
I read a book about the wind
and about the dancing of shadows.
first I was sitting and then I
lied down, in the sun, afterwards,
when I was crying, I was sitting again,
ready to stroll back among the pines.
"It's so quiet out here," I thought,
"so tremendously and utterly quiet."
and how quietly did that warm
breeze brush all that is so purple.
